Birmingham Airport is looking for a detail-oriented and data-driven Operational Analyst to join our Operations Planning team. In this key role, you will provide insights into the airport’s performance by developing capacity models, forecasting operational demand, and analysing key trends.
Your work will directly support operational and capital decision-making, ensuring our airport is equipped to meet current demands and future growth, while enhancing customer service and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain detailed airport capacity and forecasting models.• Process, manage, and visualise data using SQL and Power BI (training provided).• Assess capacity of key airport processes to identify constraints and improvement areas.• Model operational scenarios across short, medium, and long-term timeframes.• Support planning for events and operational improvements with relevant data insights.• Produce detailed reports and maintain documentation to support capacity declarations.
Experience Required:
• Strong skills in Excel and Power BI, with a willingness to learn new tools and systems.• Highly numerate with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.• Proven experience in a data analytics or similar role.• Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively in a dynamic environment.• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in small teams.• Excellent communication and listening skills with the confidence to share ideas.
