Join Birmingham Airport's dynamic Security team as a Lane Performance Supervisor. In this role, you will lead a team of Security Officers to deliver the passenger search operation in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. Your focus will be on active supervision, elevating standards, driving performance, and ensuring staff engagement and welfare. Reporting to the Security Duty Manager, you will manage your team within the Passenger Search Area, helping them achieve targets in compliance, throughput, customer satisfaction, and staff welfare.
• Lead a team of Security Officers, providing support, coaching, and feedback to enhance performance.• Promote a high-performing team culture and encourage individual development and recognition.• Monitor and ensure compliance with security processes, procedures, and practices.• Maintain a safe working environment by promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging the reporting of near misses.• Ensure the security lanes and screening room are optimised for maximum throughput while maintaining compliance.• Support the company’s customer service objectives, balancing security compliance with a positive passenger experience.
• Previous experience managing or supervising small teams, or coaching and mentoring colleagues.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and manage people effectively.• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting demands while maintaining high standards.• Ability to deliver constructive feedback and provide coaching to team members.• Previous experience coordinating responses to emergency situations, including report writing.• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
